I guess if you’re going to have a movie like that, you might as well give it the most honest name you can so people know exactly what they’re getting into. Of course, the original Spanish title translates to Walpurgis Night, which is apparently a religious holiday celebrated in North Europe by having picnics and bonfires. That has NOTHING to do with this movie. Two girls go out to the countryside to do some research for a book on a dead vampire lady and they meet a guy (who is a werewolf) who helps them accidentally bring her back from the dead. One of the girls is turned into a vampire, and the werewolf has to both kill the vampire women and protect the surviving girl so she can kill him and his curse can finally be lifted. Simple enough. I really love how stupid everybody is in this movie. At the beginning, two doctors are operating on the werewolf guy (who looks normal and dead) and they mention that if you take the silver bullets out of a werewolf, he’ll come back to life. Not believing in werewolves, they take out the silver bullets, the werewolf comes back to life and kills them. Then later, they find the vampire lady’s grave which has a warning about not opening it up, removing the silver cross from her heart and then letting blood drip on her. Open it up, remove the cross, drip some blood on her (accidentally, of course), and she comes back to life and terrorizes them. No matter how “scientifically minded” you are in a horror movie, you should AT LEAST know not to do the EXACT SAME SEQUENCE OF EVENTS THAT WILL OBVIOUSLY KILL YOU. Lust For a Vampire (also known as Love for a Vampire or To Love a Vampire) is a 1971 British Hammer Horror film directed by Jimmy Sangster, starring Yutte Stensgaard. If you can picture that, you have a pretty good idea of what The Werewolf vs. The Vampire Woman is like.
